So remember our bucket list where I wanted to hike the Y? We did it. Didn't I also say I wanted to hike Squaw Peak? Oh, wait I didn't say that... haha, we went anyways. David is already threatening me with the idea of hiking Timp again by the end of the summer... I think twice in one lifetime is enough, unfortunately so does he- he's only gone once so far.

Looks like this spring is a bit of a replay of last spring- hikes and more hikes. Except last spring we weren't married so this spring is obviously an improvement.

Plus now we have been exercising (yep, another bucket list item taken care of) so the hike was way more enjoyable because we were ready for it. And by exercising I mean we get up and jog in the mornings and go to the gym a few nights a week. It's been fun to see change.

Last Spring we hiked up the front of squaw peak, sans trail, up to a cave on the side of the mountain. It was fun but a little scary since it was pretty steep. We really enjoyed the mild weather and beautifully shaded trails this go round.

This year we went up the normal trail around the back to the top. This photo is the "we are going allll the way up there???" picture. And we hiked it with Cody and Markie which was way fun.

On our way up David, Cody and I were reliving our hike up Mt. Timpanogous last year. We all agreed that our cousin, Travis, was the one who got us up the mountain because he was so prepared. Then guess who runs (yep, up the mountain!) past us but the man himself- and Travis then proceeds to keep running past us and beat us to the top!

Here's my hiker extraordinaire. David got himself some hiking boots because he is in Young Mens at church now and they are preparing for High Adventure. He actually hiked Squaw Peak the weekend before with them, so he was expert status the next week.

The Wall=  the place every student is about to discover when fall semester rolls around. BYU finally created a cool place on campus. Lame to awesome in .1 seconds on the bottom floor of the  Wilk.

We had a super fun Friday night double-date with Cody and Markie and saw the stand up comedy group Left Field, which is the professional version of Humor U. We saw Steven Jones who did the hilarious HBLL- Axe video parody.

Family Home Evening. For the first times since our singles-student ward days this actually describes our Monday nights. And Mondays are better and worse than singles ward days. Before somebody was assigned to plan a lesson, bring treats and basically do something. But now FHE are way more important and fun because it is an investment in our family.

We done some fun ones like writing a gratitude list, and coming up with ways to serve each other. But we really got creative when David came up with the awesome idea to throw in a little family history flair a couple weeks ago.

Here's what we did:

Step 1: Go to campus and walk to the library and grab a computer. Look up the book.

Step 2: Find the book and take it to a quiet place to read. 

Step 3: Be wowed by interesting stories (Great-grandma didn't have an ear canal??) (Great-grandpa first asked out Grandma on a dare- so cute)

Step 4: Put the book back and head out. But not before shenanigans in the elevator and standing on a scary and ginormous grate by the unground parking. Yeah, we live life on the edge.

It was fun; we really enjoyed looking through and reading the beginning of the Tingey book. David's grandma compiled the book and published a book of her parent's lives with pictures, interviews, and lots of fun stories. We were glad it made it into the BYU library so we could go check it out!
