Camelback 2014
Wednesday, June 04, 2014
We were so excited when Memorial weekend came around for our second Camelback together. Last year I introduced David to this family tradition and it was great to go again with him as a seasoned participant.
It's so fun to have an amazing view of Camelback mountain from the resort- love the desert!
Friday evening was dinner at the train park and we had fun mingling with all the second cousins and aunts and uncles.
The kids threw around some frisbees in front of the jail park ( a western themed jail that is a playground).
After the dinner we walked over to the train station to take the last ride of the night as a family.
It's kind of like a little boy's dream- a Thomas the train replica basically.
We got in line with lots of cute cousins like John and Adam here. It was so fun to get to know these guys a little more since we don't see them that often.
One cousin I was super excited to meet was Mr. Milo Shill. Check out how flirty he is- and those arm rolls were perfection.
It's hard not to be a fan of a favorite cousin's baby. Even David approved- he actually held Milo! Haha.

Traditional high fives from the train.
Selfie- because why not?
Me figuring out how to do a train selfie.
Then Leslie and Jordan took it from there and snapped some awesome pictures on the train, because well, they are the awesome team that makes up J&L photo.
This picture is our weekend- we had so much stinkin' fun with these two. They tried to convince us to move to Arizona. If every week was like this weekend we might think about it.
We got back and these two promptly fell asleep watching a movie because we were all pooped from our rigorous day at the pool and park socializing and having fun with family. Then we got up and did it again on Saturday.
The key to Saturday's success is landing chairs with umbrella coverage. Those are prime pool real estate my friends.
From there you sit back with your cup of flavored ice water and possibly some cheese its and just hang out and soak up the fun.
I love Larry's satisfied face here- the fiesta burger passed muster again.
Peanut left this gift on my phone... obvious it was a cry for blog exposure ;)
Sometimes you share chairs because everyone needs a little shade.
Sometimes you nap on grandma while wearing a super cute bucket hat.
And you eventually get in the pool when the heat drives you too it.
We formed a train and David towed us around the pool.
Brooke and Jack. They were nominated as cutest couple and most likely to come back with rings.
This short video clip might sum up my dad like no other video can. Yes Dad, your disco moves are still in fashion... keep dancing!
Sunday was wonderful as always. We said the family banner of faithfulness together, listened to talks from different cousins and then had family testimony meeting that night. In between we documented with pictures.
This picture proving that even first cousins once removed can be buds.
Everyone loved seeing this cute bunch who is in Iowa at school.

These two awesome crazies put this entire reunion together this year. And they rocked it.
David looking posh (I'm not biased of course).
I'm telling ya, cutest couple.
More little boys. There was a sad lack of little girls but the boys sure did there best to be mischievous enough to distract us from that.
And we added another picture to the annual Sunday picture of our family.
Our favorite highlights were gabbing with Leslie and Jordan (seriously are men and women different in all the same ways? haha), catching up with extended cousins, and feeling the strengthening boost of a Gospel centered family working towards the same goal.
