Christmas 2018

Sunday, December 30, 2018

David and I switch between our families every year for Christmas and 2018 was a Smith year. Lucky for us, my parents offered to come to Utah since all four kids were here and we have room to host.

We made a bunch of memories and loved our time together. The only frustrating thing was my kit lens stopped being able to auto focus and it's really hard to manual focus because you can't really tell very well in the viewfinder how focused it actually is. So I left some poorly focused pictures in when I really liked the memory- FYI.

David wanted to make some authentic Mexican meals and this night a couple days before Christmas he made birria with homemade corn tortillas and it was so so yummy!

We also had a bunch of family over for Christmas Eve dinner and a short program and presents.

David read the nativity story which has become a tradition when we do Christmas at home.

Scotty and Hannah had so much fun together- they're such cute cousins!

I have yet to get a really good photo of Grandpa Mark with Russell Mark but it's not for lack of trying- haha!

Christmas morning was fun- Scotty was too young to get us up abnormally early so we made breakfast and took the tradition Smith stair pictures. Which would not focus so we kind of gave up.

We spent Christmas day leisurely opening presents, listening to Christmas music, munching and just hanging out.

We also went out to eat a couple times, the boys went snowshoeing, we all went tubing at Soldier Hollow (where Russell fell asleep while in his donut tube!) and we saw a play. Overall it was such a great time and I'm glad we got to do it all together before Gage's mission.
