Summer Time

We had some fun times this summer with lots of family adventures. Here's a run-down of what we've been up to.

Neon Trees

My Aunt Allison texted me to see if we wanted to go to a Neon Trees charity concert on a Saturday. We were at Home Depot getting stuff for some projects and we weren't sure at first. But then she let us know that Mike, her husband, knew the band and had cool passes to go basically everywhere. So we went and it was way fun.

David got to catch up with a mission friend, we enjoyed listening and singing along to their songs and it's always fun to see Mike and Alli.

Mike grew up with the lead singer and guitarist. They were both in his ward and he still hangs out with them. It was really fun to hear Mike's perspective on songs they've written because he knows them. Turns out one of them and his wife had just stayed on Mike & Alli's couch the week before when they were passing through.

Afterwards we went to IHOP with Mike's friends and get to know them a little bit more. It was funny because the waitress apologized to us for the long wait and explained it was because of the Neon Trees concert across the street. I felt like David and I side-eyed each other when she said that, like yeah, part of the band is sitting at this table right now. Turns out they were as awesome and humble as Mike is :)

Provo Freedom Festival

Jake, David's cousin, invited us to double with him to the Provo Freedom Festival. It was pretty crazy and fun, it felt like a fair.

This sign has absolutely no significance... we didn't eat there, it was just a good spot to grab a picture haha.

As was this chicken grill station. It smelled awesome though.

This is me being a chicken...
Spotted: best piece of merch at the festival.

We grabbed some really yummy drinks from this indian cart- I got strawberry and David got Mango, we looked around until our feet fell off and enjoyed the bands that were playing there.

Then on the actual 4th of July we went to Elk Ridge and hung out at Sandra's, David's mom, house.
This is the only picture I took for some reason, but it was of David placing the wall mount and hanging the TV. He's awesome and it gave him great practice for putting ours up :) It was fun to get to know more of Larry's family and hanging out with David's.

And I was cleaning out my pictures and I found these two. These were also taken down the street from Sandra's when Nathan and Colleen came and checked the house out. Nathan was proving his superior dad skills by lifting almost all his children at once.

Random GIF (Guh-if)

And this was from June after it had been raining a lot. David stopped on the top of the steps as we were coming in from work to take a picture of the very green back lawn. I was at the door to the house and ran out to photo-bomb his picture, which he took advantage of by taking a few of running out there like a crazy.  Then he told me to make a GIF of it and it's pretty funny- our nieghbs probably think I'm odd.
