California Trip 2015

Marathon trips are fun. You come home having had way too much fun and being excited about things like getting the mail and doing laundry. David and I just came back from a marathon trip that took us to Orange County, LA, then San Diego. We got to enjoy the Hatch Family reunion, Disneyland and a wedding.

HATCH REUNION

We had so much fun getting to spend to time with David's immediate and extended family. My favorite day was the beach day. The weather was perfect, the water was warm, we had a huge tent, and Aunt Quenta made sure there was awesome food. But all the times hanging out, playing games, swimming and getting to know each other better was awesome.

And apparently we're obsessed with the babies because that's all we have on our cameras... #babiesforthewin

Lizzy hung out with David for a while and he got some cute pictures. She's so sweet and mellow.

The big girls got to sleep at Grandma's (the rest of David's immediate family stayed at a rental house so we didn't overload Grandma's house). It was so cute how Gideon missed them, especially Noelle.

This tent that Nathan brought made the beach day a huge success- it was the perfect place to gather when you didn't want to play. Lizzy was so hilarious, just hanging out eating her snacks on the blanket like a big kid.

Classic Sterling- proud tummy and tale tale sand on his mouth, all boy.

Sadly David took this picture and we didn't get one with him in it, but it turned out pretty well. Next time we'll have to focus on getting a few more pictures, but I guess that's the mark of a really fun reunion- you are so involved you don't grab your camera all the time.

DISNEYLAND

My family went to Disneyland for its 60th anniversary and we got to join them on that fun trip after reunion. It was pretty busy but we got to go on a lot of things we hadn't done before because we've all gone to Disneyland enough we decided not to wait for the crazy long wait rides and just enjoy some unique ones.

David convinced us to go on the sailboat which was really fun. You can explore the ship and Gage figured out to unlock doors you aren't supposed to in the hull of the ship- haha.

GQ Gage on the ship :)

We got yummy Dole whip and visited the Tikki room which was a first for David.

The jungle cruise wait time was pretty deceptive but we waited the "15" (try 40) minutes anyway and enjoyed more animatronic animals.

Everyone is raising their hands in response to the guides questions.

We enjoyed our first fast pass ticket to Indiana Jones. Here's a selfie in the car.

Mom and Dad went to nap in the car so we hung out and visited the haunted mansion and Big Thunder mountain railroad.

Mom and Dad met us after we watched the animatronic Lincoln presentation near the front of the park. We hopped on the train around the park and ended up in Tomorrowland where we went on the cars ride, the monorail and Buzz Lightyear.

We ended the night with the parade and fireworks show and we were pretty pooped by the end of the day.

MONTAGE LAGUANA BEACH WEDDING

The reason we made our trip a marathon one was to stay for David's boss' wedding. It was fun to be able to support him and his new family. They were not able to get sealed immediately so they opted for a civil wedding first. It was pretty unique, since the bride and groom and most of the guests were LDS.
We were looking out at the ocean while we waited for the procession- the venue was gorgeous and apparently we missed seeing Justin Bieber there by an hour (so sad ;).

The theme was XO so after the cocktail hour you found the X or the O with your name on it and it had the table name on the other side. At the table they had personalized menus for dinner, which was delicious.

David enjoyed spending time with his co-workers and getting to know his boss better through all the toasts and guests.

They had the coolest favors I've ever seen at a wedding. Keeping with their theme they gave the women lipsticks and the men wooden tick tack toe boards. Kisses and X&Os. It was genius and so cute.
And here's a blurry picture of the venue.

All the time with family and fun events definitely made this a memorable trip that we won't forget anytime soon :)
