Love Story

David and I met August 2011 during fall semester at BYU. We went on a date in October. There's consensus that it was not a great date. It was one of those times where the situation combined with the timing set us up for failure.

Somehow David lost his marbles and asked me on a second date later that month. I also lost my marbles and accepted. We must be gluttons for punishment. Surprisingly I have pictures of this date:

Except this date turned out not to be half bad. In fact it was kind of fun.

As you can see it was slightly cozier than the last one... cough* wetotallyheldhands *cough
So yeah, it was fun. And that's where that all ended. In October. With our roommates asking us if we were planning on going out again and both of us separately said, "meh." Good story, right?

But you're smarter than that, you know it couldn't have ended there. After all you're on the blog that proves otherwise. So many moons later (about 5 actually) and some friendship built we tried again. I ditched class and did two things I usually avoid: anything that requires too much coordination and athleticism and being in the wet and cold for very long. i.e. David took me snowboarding.

I don't have pictures of that encounter which we sometimes also refer to as our second first date. This one was different: it was having a lot in common and friendship, it was him being patient and me falling down a lot, it was me not caring to be embarrassed because I trusted him. It was a start.

I don't have pictures of the date, but I do have pictures of the aftermath. Ouchie, poor little lobsters.

And then it went like this:

Which eventually led to this:

Which inevitably led to this:

So we could announce that on December 20, 2012 we were doing this:

So that's the beginning of our story. If you're like me and you enjoy thoroughly stalking, here's some more:
